To my neighbors in Mile Post

Make sure to read the Newcastle News when it comes (see link below). Reporter Autumn Koepp today interviewed several of us in the neighborhood and walked up 135th Ave SE and along 136th Ave SE to see what we were talking about at the meeting Monday evening with the City. Autumn had been most impressed by the 40 residents who had turned out for that meeting. She was even more impressed by the friendliness of Mile Post residents who waved to us as we were walking. Her comment was that this was a "very friendly neighborhood."

Autumn was very interested in how we came together as a neighborhood. She was amazed at the depth of our knowledge regarding the challenges our neighborhood faces from: the expansion of Coal Creek Parkway, the building of E-13, the existing Highlands development and the future development of the Cox and Park Hill properties. She quickly grasped the implications of the increased traffic our neighborhood faces.

I'd like to thank Julie Granberg, Bob Hagen, Lisa Sargent, Katy Phillips and her two girls and Valerie and Sherman Willis for their time and expertise in answering Autumn's questions. We've got a super community and the best neighbors in the world.
